A 6.2-megawatt peak solar power plant was inaugurated by Yellow Door Energy at The Bahrain Mall. It is operated by Carrefour Bahrain. The solar power purchase agreement was signed by Majid Al Futtaim with Yellow Door Energy. The roof of The Bahrain Mall has seen more than 11,000 solar panels installed. It covers an area of over 40,000 square metres. The rooftop solar plant, with a peak power of 6.2 megawatts, produces 10 million kilowatt-hours (equivalent to 7,100 metric tons) of clean energy within the first year.
