SA clean cooking pilot saves community time and energy

After piloting their products in local communities, a clean and renewable energy

solutions provider recently hosted the official launch of their advanced biomass stove

and clean cookware manufacturing facility in Paarl, South Africa.

The facility encompasses the entire clean cookware manufacturing process, from laser

cutting to packaging and has created 150 local jobs.

With this final launch being the culmination of approximately $1 million in investment, CEO of Ener-G-Africa has said that the facility in Paarl has already manufactured and exported 1.2 million stoves thus far.

Speaking at the launch of the clean cooking facility, the Executive Mayor of Drakenstein Municipality, Stephen Korabie, said that this achievement marks an important point for developmental progress in the municipal area. This, he said, means more jobs and more opportunities, marking the importance of the value that people add to development.

Speaking on a panel discussion at the launch event, Louise Williamson, Project & Implementation Manager at Ener-G-Africa, said involving communities in the deployment process of these goods is vital to see how these products immediately improve their lives.
