Kenya continues to dominate East Africa off-grid solar market

Sales of off-grid solar energy kits in East Africa in the second half of 2023 surpassed

2.5 million units, and Kenya is the largest off-grid-solar market in the region,representing 74% of total sales.

While this is a 14% increase compared to the first half of the year, it represents a 1%

decrease compared to the same time in 2022.Sales of solar lanterns led cash sales, increasing by 22% from the first half the year. Still, it was 4% lower than the same time period in 2022.
