Mexico’s solar program expands access to electricity for off-grid rural families

The Autonomous Photovoltaic Systems Program in Rural Communities, led by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (SMAyDS) and the State Institute of Energy and Climate Change (IEECC), is providing solar kits to off-grid families in Mexico. Already implemented in over 600 homes, the program will expand to 521 more homes in marginalized areas, benefiting around 1,200 people by offering solar panels, batteries, wiring, and converters to improve access to electricity.
