Residents of Amagba community, Benin, the Edo State capital, were excited and grateful to the Benin branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers for donating solar street lights spanning a distance of 420 metres on Emwinmadomwan Street.
The Chairman of NSE Benin, Engr. Evukowhiroro Ojegba, told South-South PUNCH that the project was delivered by the Engineering Programme Committee of the NSE on December 23, to help light up the street/community as a way of giving back to the community.
The NSE Benin boss thanked everyone who made the project a reality, reiterating his commitment to the development of communities by embarking on laudable engineering programmes that would add values to the lives of the people, promising to extend the gesture to other communities in the state.
He said, “I am happy to see that this project has come to fruition. It is a project that is important to us, as it helps light up the community and add value to the people’s lives as well as enhance security.
