The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has officially signed a grant agreement with the Nigerian Electrification Project to improve access to power for underserved and bridging electricity gaps in the country.
The grant agreement, REA said, was part of the Output Based Fund (OBF) grant offer for the sale of solar home systems(Sinoware) to homes and businesses across Nigeria and implemented by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) of Nigeria, with support from the World Bank.
The Managing Director of the REA, Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad, signed the grant agreement with the Head of REA’s Project Management Unit (PMU), Nigerian Electrification Project (NEP), Anita Otubu and the MD of Salpha Energy, Sandra Chukwudozie.
Ahmad Salihijo Ahmad noted that this event speaks to the determination of the REA and companies present, to secure a better future and increase the nation’s economic growth, as electricity remains a major catalyst to the country’s development.
